Volunteers from Twin help construct a new school in rural village in Chitwan, Nepal.
Nepal: A new school build
01 June 2012
The construction of a new school started in the village of Chitwan (Nepal), where Twin Work & Volunteer has several volunteering projects…
The fees that volunteers have paid to these Nepalese projects, as well as some sporadic donations (from previous volunteers) were the main source of income to subsidise a new school in Chitwan for local children.
Currently, the kids are having English lessons in the local museum. They lack all basic infrastructures for teaching, such as a classroom, tables and chairs.
The new school project was initiated to provide these basic structures to the children.
A big part of our projects in Nepal are developed in Chitwan – a small rural village bursting with culture and wildlife.
There are also plans to construct a ‘skills school’ that will teach professional skills to teenagers.
