Volunteers from Twin help construct a new school in rural village in Chitwan, Nepal.

Nepal: A new school build

01 June 2012

The construction of a new school started in the village of Chitwan (Nepal), where Twin Work & Volunteer has several volunteering projects

Blog_June_10The fees that volunteers have paid to these Nepalese projects, as well as some sporadic donations (from previous volunteers) were the main source of income to subsidise a new school in Chitwan for local children.

Currently, the kids are having English lessons in the local museum. They lack all basic infrastructures for teaching, such as a classroom, tables and chairs.

The new school project was initiated to provide these basic structures to the children.

A big part of our projects in Nepal are developed in Chitwan – a small rural village bursting with culture and wildlife.

There are also plans to construct a ‘skills school’ that will teach professional skills to teenagers.
