Twin Work & Volunteer’s Career Development Programme allows students to gain an internationally recognised, accredited UK qualification, attained through guided classroom study and practical work experience in the UK. The programme comprises of a period of intensive study and an internship, which allows students to gain comprehensive business knowledge and develop the capabilities to become a leader.
This program will prepare students for a career in business, by giving them practical experience of work in a business environment, and by teaching them valuable skills. Students will be taught skills such as, managerial decision making, developing personal skills for leadership and management communication and presentation skills.
The course begins with a number of weeks of study, depending on which version of CDP is chosen, and a work placement, sourced by one of Twin’s experienced placement advisors to match the student’s specific career goals. CDP offers students internships in a range of sectors including, marketing, engineering, finance & accounting, administration, and numerous other industry sectors. Throughout their time with Twin, students have access to Twin’s unique e-Learning platform, in which they can create individual study plans and practise English at their leisure.

Students enrolling onto the Career Development Programme can choose between CDP 1, CDP 2 and CDP 3, which allows them to decide how long they want to study and work for, and which qualification they want to gain. During the study period of the course, students will undertake 23 hours of tuition per week. For the practical side of the programme, students carry out a work experience placement, from 9:00 until 17:30, Monday to Friday. New courses begin each month.

The Study Programme
Depending on the Career Development Programme chosen, students receive between 3 and 9 units of tuition, before being assessed for their ILM Level 4 qualification or Certificate. The business-related modules include elements such as critical thinking, improving interview skills and solving problems related to work.
Completing an internship is also an integral part of the programme, as it allows students to develop their understanding of the professional world and apply what they have learnt during the study programme, as well as making them significantly more competitive within the job market.

Twin’s interactive e-Learning platform provides an ideal way for students to improve and practise their English around a work placement. The platform allows students to create individual study plans and easily find lessons appropriate to their level of proficiency.
Students can choose to undertake the study period of the Career Development Programme at either of Twin’s two British Council accredited English Centres, in London or Eastbourne. The English Centre in London offers easy access to England’s vibrant capital and its variety of sights and attractions, while Eastbourne is a picturesque UK seaside resort, providing a relaxed atmosphere for study, while still allowing excursions to London. Students carry out their internship in London.
Accommodation and Food
Students will also have the option to book comfortable and safe accommodation with Twin's experienced host families at an additional cost. Host families are a great way for students to immerse themselves in British culture and the English language, and hence make the most of their time in the UK. Homestay accommodation includes half board catering.

How it all works
Please contact Twin Work & Volunteer’s sales team for a quote based on your student’s needs, and allow at least 4 weeks prior to the student’s desired start date for booking.
During peak seasons, group bookings should be made 8 weeks in advance of the desired start date for it to be guaranteed. Please note, we are more flexible during the rest of the year, so please do not hesitate to enquire about last minute bookings.
Prior to booking, the CV of all students wishing to enrol are required by our placement team, and a skype interview will be arranged to assess the student for their internship. Following this all placement arrangements will be communicated to the student before they arrive in the UK.
Transport can be organised to bring students straight to their accommodation upon their arrival in the UK, (extra fee applies). Please enquire for more information.
Following their arrival in the UK, on the first Monday morning they arrive at Twin School, students will have an Induction for their Work Skills classes. Following this, students are required to attend a Work Experience Induction during their second week of studies. The Work Experience customer services team will contact the Education department to discuss a suitable time and day for their induction. At the induction, Twin staff will ensure students are happy with their accommodation and give them more information about their placement, including travel and health & safety advice.
Placements are midway through the CDP Programme and our Work Experience Team will work with the student to make sure they are fully prepared. Our team will also arrange an interview with the students host company prior to the start of their placement.
Finishing the course
Following completion of their studies and work placement, students will receive their Level 3 Award or Certificate.
