Gap years are an amazing way for many people to take the time out to have an experience that everyday life cannot provide them with. It is a chance to see more of the world, meet new people and have a once in a lifetime adventure. It’s also a chance to get out of your security zone and do something constructive and valuable with your time.

Working or volunteering abroad is a great way to experience what life is like in other parts of the world. It broadens your horizons and can even change your perspective on life. As well as the personal gains of taking a gap year, there are the practical gains such as the skills and experiences learnt that could enhance your career prospects or university applications.

Here at WAVA, we are committed to providing fulfilling and worthwhile work and volunteer projects to exciting and unique destinations around the world. From protecting elephants in Thailand to teaching English to Buddhist monks in Nepal , WAVA is sure that one of its programmes will match what you’re looking for.
