Volunteers are needed around the world to help support projects that work tirelessly to stop rare and precious small animals from becoming extinct.
As more and more natural habitats are slowly being destroyed, the welfare of many of the planet’s creatures has come under tremendous threat from all angles – not least of which is the threat from hunters catering to modern life's desire to use wildlife as a commodity.
Campaigning for the rights of animals is something that WAVA is extremely passionate about. Our endangered animal rescue programmes work specifically with the protection and monitoring of a varied range of animals, from jungle parrots and snakes, to monkeys, turtles, and Thailand's magnificent gibbons.
It is often the case today that a lot of media attention is directed towards the plight of the more ‘fashionable’ animals (elephants and lions for instance) - we endeavour to readdress this imbalance by offering our volunteers a selection of animal conservation programmes, from projects that deal with animal care, to projects that allow dedicated volunteers to be at the forefront of animal rescue.
